ALSIGNS is also the umbrella company for Surelite Ltd and certain other fellow organisations that manufacture self-powered lighting products created by a combination of the hydrogen light industry and the mechanical engineering industry. These innovative lighting systems make a significant contribution to the saving of energy as they are not dependent on fossil fuels (ie. they are not electricity-based or battery-powered) but are instead a "clean" system based on the use of tritium gas (also known as "hydrogen 3" or H3 technology).

Robert E. Chapman (B.Sc) has been the Managing Director of Alsigns Ltd since 1995. Robert joined the company in 1995 in the post of Research Consultant (Hydrogen Light Technology) and Company Secretary, having previously pursued a career in the chemical industry at Albright & Wilson Limited in Whitehaven, Cumbria, where he worked as a technical sales chemist and then as a patents information officer in the Business Studies Unit of the company.

Robert Chapman has lectured in computer studies at Uxbridge and Slough. Currently he is head of management and carries the responsibilities of overseeing compliance under the requirements of the applicable Radiological and Data Protection regulations as well as supervising the legislative provisions and their applicability to Health and Safety.
